MICHELE PERTUSI, Italian bass was born in Pesaro and studied with Carlo Bergonzi and Arrigo Pola. He has debuted at Covent Garden, Vienna State Opera, the Teatro Regio in Turin, La Scala in Milan, the Paris Opera, the Liceu in Barcelona, and the Metropolitan Opera in New York and is regularly invited to sing major roles under the baton of such conductors as Daniel Barenboim, Semyon Bychkov, Riccardo Chailly, Myung-Whun Chung, Sir Colin Davis, Daniele Gatti, Vladimir Jurowski, James Levine, Zubin Mehta and Riccardo Muti.
Recent seasons’ highlights include two much awaited debuts in London, firstly at the Royal Opera House- Covent Garden in Les contes d’Hoffmann and then with the London Symphony Orchestra led by Colin Davis in La damnation de Faust, performances of Così fan tutte, Thais (his debut in the role of Athanael) and Attila in Venice.
